The Dip Strip THC/Marijuana Urine Test is based on the principle of the highly specific immunochemical reactions between antigens and antibodies, which are used for the analysis of specific substances in biological fluids. The cutoff of the thc urine drug test is 50 nanograms of THC metabolites per milliliter. This is the recommended assay cutoff by the SAMHSA (The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration) .
Meaning Of The Dip Strip Home Urine Drug Test:
- When test starts working, you have to see a color strip at the left part of the result window. This is the Control Strip. It shows that the test is working properly.
Note: The color of this test strip is too pale in comparison with the colors of the test strips of other drugs, because of the chemical nature of the THC. So, we recommend to read a test in a place with a good lighting.
- Test results are indicated at the right part of the result window. If you see another color strip there, this strip is the Test Strip.
Negative: Two Color Strips
If you see two color strips in the result window, this means that the specimen does not contain THC at a concentration above the cut-off level. It is a negative test result. The Test Strip may differ by the color from the Control one.
Positive: One Color Strip
If you see the only one color strip in the result window, it means that THC above the cutoff level has been detected. It is a positive test result.
Invalid:
You should always see a distinct color strip in the left part of the result window. If there is no color strip in the left part, the test is invalid.
Note. If in 5 minutes you can see a very pale strip in the right part of the result window, it means that the concentration of THC in the specimen is close to the cutoff level. In this case we recommend to retest the urine sample, before a positive decision is made. Also you can confirm it with another alternative methods, for example gas chromatography/mass spectrometry.
