Online THC Calculator [Updated 2018]

NOTE!!! This calculator is provided for informational purposes only. Remember that no one and nothing can say EXACTLY how long marijuana stays in YOUR body. It depends on many factors, such as age, weight, metabolism, amount and potency of marijuana, and the effect of THC detox products. This calculator is based on general information about the half-life of THC in the human body. This information isn't medical advice, so this website will not be held responsible if you are caught on a drug test.

Fifty nanograms of THC metabolites per milliliter defines a "presumptive positive" by NIDA (National Institute on Drug Abuse) certified labs. Your THC level must fall below 50ng/ml marked with the RED line to pass a standard drug test.

If the level of THC in your urine is above the required level, you can accelerate the marijuana detox process by drinking more fluids, eating high-fiber foods, exercising, and using effective THC detox products.

What is THC calculator?

Just like the name suggests, a THC calculator is a program that gives you an estimation of how long THC is able to stay in your body. To define it in technical terms, a THC calculator is a program that calculates how long THC metabolites will take to be entirely broken down into smaller non-traceable compounds.

Note that, a THC calculator is not scientifically precise or 100% accurate as it only works by estimation.

What is the half-life of THC?

Now, unlike most other drugs, marijuana is known to stay in the body for quite a longer time due to its fat-soluble characteristic. Most drugs are usually absorbed by the bloodstream thus giving them a shorter elimination half-life.

As for THC, this compound is usually absorbed by the liver, brain, heart and lungs thus giving it a longer elimination half-life as these organs are known to retain THC and other metabolites for a much longer time.

Now, what exactly is half-life? Half life is the amount of time it takes for half (50%) of a drug to be entirely flushed out from the body. In the case of THC, due to its fat-soluble characteristic, it usually has a relatively prolonged half-life which is estimated to be 3 to 4 days.

Although the half-life for THC is estimated to be 3 to 4 days, this estimation is not universally predictable as it depends on the dosage, age, frequency of use, weight and height. If your THC half life is, let's say 3 days, this simply means that it will take about 17 days to clear the entire THC from your body.

How much is 50 ng/ml?

The level of THC metabolites in your system is determined by the format "nanograms per milliliter (ng/ml). According to most government institutions, the detection threshold for THC is usually set at 50 ng/ml.

In a study conducted by researchers at Leiden University, in the Netherlands, a group of subjects received a standard dose of marijuana with 17.4% THC level. During the test (using joints with 700mg of weed), the subjects were ordered to take 2-second puffs with a regular interval of 15 seconds, 30 seconds and 60 seconds.

After the test, researchers took blood from the subjects to measure the amount of THC in their systems. They had discovered that the 2-second puffs every 30 and 60 seconds yielded almost a similar result with a THC level of about 22 ng/ml, while the 2-second pulls every 15 seconds recorded a double THC intake of 44 ng/ml.

So, 50 ng/ml is very close to the level you have right after two short pulls. But mention that THC level falls about 5 times in first hour after smoking, so you will have only about 10 ng/ml after one hour and it will keep falling further, although much slower.

How accurate is the THC calculator?

Just to be on the safe side, it's good to mention that a THC calculator is not the surest way of determining whether you'll pass a THC drug test or not. This device is not 100% accurate nor is it a sure guarantee that you'll pass a drug test as there are lots of factors that determine the final results.

Note that the results you obtain from the THC calculator vary greatly depending on individual circumstances. It can be used just to estimate the result.

How can a THC calculator help you prepare for a drug test?

Now, if you're a frequent cannabis smoker, taking advantage of the THC calculator is one brilliant way of planning ahead when getting ready for an upcoming marijuana drug test.

If you're working in a company that gives you the freedom to choose your own date to take the test (or if you're free to submit the results through a private third-party company), then using a THC calculator will definitely be the best strategy as it will help you determine the perfect time to show up for the test.

If you're in the process of selecting the right detox kit, this THC calculator will give you a hint whether you need a fast-acting detox product or a long-term cleansing program. In addition to that, a THC calculator can help you save a lot when shopping for high-end detox kits. Although the best detox programs cost over $200 (usually for long-term detox programs that take around 14 plus days), in case the THC calculator records low THC levels that will last for about 7 to 14 days in your system, you may consider purchasing one of the cheaper kits that will take a minimum of 7 to 10 days.

Finally, just like we mentioned before, a THC calculator works by "guesstimating" how long THC is likely to stay in your body and is never 100% accurate. Therefore, when planning to get tested for THC, ensure that you execute your plan precisely to avoid being caught up at the very end.
